a writer/writing day

Hallelujah. My diary template has been salvaged. I am forever grateful that I am a packrat who never throws anything away.

A.'s at the gym, and I'm enjoying a quiet hour of solid writing time (except I'm not writing ... I'm rebuilding my diary template, go figure). I had two inspirational things happen to me today:

I listened to a "Fresh Air" interview with Richard Russo.

I rediscovered zoetrope.com, the online short story community (the sole reason that a former friend/fling of mine dropped out of life and went back to school for his MFA).

I feel like I really want to make a go at this. Four days from now I could be completely discouraged again. But there has to be something to the fact that I keep coming back to this. It's been a recurring theme for more than a decade of my short life. I have to trust that this is where my heart is dying to take me.
