Farewell friend-I-never-see-or-call

I just got an email from a friend of mine who I worked with at my first job (the dot-com) after I moved to California.

I've seen her like one or two times in the past year. We exchange emails from time to time. And ever since I started working in the city, I've had "Email B." on my to-do list.

I've never done it.

Her email was titled:

"We're moving to L.A."

And they are. She and the guy who, when we worked together, she had a minor crush on are now a full-fledged couple and are ... moving away.

I should feel relieved I suppose. One less friend I never see who I have to feel guilty about not seeing.

It feels tragic somehow. If only I had actually taken the extra step and just emailed her. Or called her. Or met her for drinks. I feel lousy.
